Hello! Today I’d like to share a fun card that I made using the “Triple Time Technique.” My friend Daria challenged me to give this a try, and suggested that I watch the following video by Dawn Olchefske about how to do the Triple Time Technique from her blog post here:
(video shared with permission from Dawn Olchefske)
I had never heard of this technique before, but it sounded like fun! And I love that the mattes between the layers cover up the “gaps” in the stamping where the stamp doesn’t really hit the paper near the edge of the layer above.
I was also inspired by Magenta Style’s Negative Butterfly Collage stamp that I had seen while browsing the web. So I decided to combine the Triple Time Technique with this sort of negative look by using dark chocolate brown cardstock, stamping with VersaMark watermark ink, and then heat embossing in white.
Background is Hero Arts S1832 Italian Poetry Background. Flower and butterfly are from Hero Arts CL431 Watercolor Petals. Added orange embroidery floss and jewels to finish off this card.
If you make a Triple Time card, I’d love to see it!
Please add it to the Gaal Creative Circle on Flickr!
Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful technique, beautiful card!
I LOVE this technique. When I saw your card, I said “HOW DID SHE DO THIS?” and then I watched the video and NOW I want to try it.
What a wonderful technique. Thank you for sharing your card and the video from your friend.
I loved this the first time I saw you use it Anne… and have done a few now. I’ve added my latest one to your group.
