Paper beads handmade by Anne Gaal

Handmade paper beads

Hi there! Just a quick post today! I’ve begun making paper beads … and I’m wondering if anyone else out there makes paper beads?

If so, please leave me a comment and let me know!

I’m looking for inspiration on what to do with my paper beads, once I’ve made them! Any ideas you can share are most appreciated!

And, thanks for stopping by!

HI Several years ago my daughter was an exchange student in Japan. Before she left we made many necklaces and bracelets with paper beads so that she could give them to the people who housed her, those who invited her to dinner or tea etc. It was fun making them. We put a small gold spacer bead between each of the paper beads and a clasp at the ends. They were quite pretty and inexpensive, though time consuming. We used paper from wallpaper books to make them, so paper was free. Hope you enjoy making your beads — show us what you make with them.

Those are so cool looking Anne! I watched a tutorial once on how to make them, but I’ve never tried. It looks like a lot of work :)

Hi Anne,

Your beads look fantastic. But unfortunately I can’t help you with your question. I hope that someone out there has ideas for you, if not just You Tube Paper beads & I’m sure that you will get some great ideas in no time xoxoxo

lovely beads. I’ve never made them, but have seen magazine articles showing necklaces and bangles

yes i do make them when ever i am in a funk and they get me out of it and the ideas flow. i store them with my buttons. I do not make them as round as you do mine are more cylindrical. I do have , somewhere, a necklace, from the early 1900′s made from paper beads and more like quilling , very fine

I’ve made a few just to say I did but then never did anything with them. Sometimes I think I should finish them and add them to a journal as hanging embellishments along the spine.
