Cheerful Autumn Flower

Earth Tones Cheerful Flower

Hello! Today I’d like to share a second card featuring the same stamp (the flower) as I showed in Monday’s Blinged Flower Card, but with a whole new look.

The focal image is made from 140# cold-pressed watercolor paper. I applied Broken China and Pumice Stone Distress Inks (Tim Holtz) directly to my non-stick craft sheet. Then I misted them with water from a mini-mister until the ink beaded. I placed the watercolor paper face down in the ink, wiggled it, turned it over, misted it again, and dried it with my Heat It craft tool (heat gun). Then I flicked water droplets on it, and dried them with my heat tool. All of these steps so far are the same as for Monday’s Blinged Flower Card.

Next, I stamped Penny Black 4160K Cheerful (flower) on top, using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black. I colored the flower, flower center, stem, and leaves using Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. Then I added Stickles glitter glue to the flower center in Crystal (clear glitter).  The major difference between the two looks (today’s and Monday’s) is the difference in how I colored the flowers and the patterned papers I selected to go with them.

When the glitter glue was dry, I die cut and dry embossed the focal panel with Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eighteen. I used a Tsukineko sponge dauber to edge the panel with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. The panel is mounted to the card base with foam tape for dimension.

The card base is tan cardstock, with patterned paper from Basic Grey’s Kioshi line (KIO-2336 Lilo). I added some Bazzill rick rack in green. “Thank you” sentiment from Hero Arts CL142 Thank You Messages and is stamped using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Finally, I added three crystal gemstomes (Hero Arts CH117).

Thanks for stopping by!

Anne, it hardly seems the same flower. The colouring on this is stunning.
