Distress Ink samples on watercolor paper from Anne's color journal

Hi there! Today I’m announcing my challenge for August!

August’s Theme is Distress Inks!

Ranger Distress Inks are a special kind of dye ink. Like most dye inks they dry quickly, but they do stay wet long enough to heat emboss with them. They are also can be used to achieve special effects with water, such as water splotches and water stamping. Distress Inks are not just used by stampers, but by many types of mixed media artists.

I’ve been talking about Distress Inks for my last few posts. Hopefully, those posts have given you some inspiration and ideas of how you can use Distress Inks!

August’s challenge rules:

  • Create a new project (card, scrapbook page, ATC, felting, quilt block, mixed media canvas, your own color journal spread, or whatever) using Distress Inks! (You can combine my challenge with other challenges if you’d like.)
  • Upload your project to your blog or to Flickr (or some other similar Web site) and figure out the exact URL of that page. Cut and paste the exact URL into the Inlinkz tool below.
  • Please only one entry per person!
  • The challenge runs through Monday, August 16th, at 12:00 midnight EST. (The Inlinkz tool will automatically close when the challenge has ended.)
  • A randomly-selected winner will be announced on Friday, August 20th. The winner will receive a Jillibean Soup clear stamp set JBC7705 Butterflies.

The randomly-selected winner will receive:

Jillibean Soup clear stamp set JBC7705 Butterflies

Jillibean Soup clear stamp set JBC7705 Butterflies

Have fun!

And thanks for stopping by!

This stamp set is so adoreable Anne, you have good taste, don’t you just love Butterflies, they are one of my favorite insects, I wish we had more of them in our area, I have seen a few this summer, but with this brutal heat our flowers are all doing so poorly that our local butterfly population is NIL!!.
Take care for now,
DP

Just realized my card for the August HA and PDCC Challenges is using distress inks, so I’m entering your challenge. Thanks for the opportunity!

Hi, Anne – I’m just now getting back into the swing of things! I loved your challenge here but didn;t know about it until after the deadline. *sniff, sniff* But I’ll certainly see if I can’t get in there next time!
